Fitness Programs
In addition to our regular fitness programs, the Petoskey Friendship Center is hosting two new classes. Cardio Drumming will take place on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. Stand or sit for this one-hour of fun led by Lynn Turner, Executive Director of Northern Michigan Drum Village. Tai Chi Class will take place on Thursdays at 2:30 p.m. Learn the skills of the Yang Style Short Form in this one-hour class led by Todd Ackerman, certified group fitness instructor and Tai Chi master. No experience is necessary for these heart healthy classes.

Ping Pong
Ping pong tables will be set up for play at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 5; Thursday, June 6; Wednesday, June 12; Thursday, June 13; Wednesday, June 19; Thursday, June 20; and Thursday, June 27.

Ambassadors Program
Enthusiasts of Friendship Centers of Emmet County are encouraged to consider volunteering for the new Ambassadors Program. If you love FCEC and want to tell about it, have a welcoming and friendly disposition, have a passion for building relationships with other seniors, and have the ability to give and receive supportive feedback, we would love to have you be part of the program. Ambassadors will endorse and promote FCEC at senior centers and other community events. They will help new attendees meet others, give tours, assist with required forms, and provide information about services and enrichment opportunities. Enjoy the benefits of being a member of the Retired Senior Volunteer Program. Learn more and apply at the Petoskey Friendship Center.

Lunchtime Entertainment
Join us for some live entertainment prior to lunch. At the Petoskey Friendship Center we will have Casperino on Tuesday, June 4; Brad Hersey on Tuesday, June 11; Stu and Sal on Thursday, June 27; and the FCEC Choir every Friday. At the Huber Senior Center in Brutus we will have Brad Hersey on Friday, June 14 and Randy Marquardt on Monday, June 24.

Pontoon Ride Raffle
Kick back and relax after you win this raffle. The winner will receive a 2-hour pontoon ride for six to eight people of your choosing, hosted by FCEC's executive director, complete with cheese, crackers, and wine. Raffle tickets are $5.00 each and can be purchased at the Petoskey Friendship Center or by calling (231) 347-3211. The winning ticket will be drawn Wednesday, June 26 during lunch. You do not need to be present to win. The ride must take place during the day, Monday through Friday, between mid-July and the end of August. The Executive Director will coordinate the date and details with the winner.

Emmet County Senior Expo
In partnership with the Petoskey News Review, Friendship Centers of Emmet County is hosting the Senior Expo on Wednesday, June 26 at the Emmet County Fairgrounds Community Center. The expo will have a large variety of vendors featuring products and services for seniors and their families, as well has fun activities, food & beverages, and giveaways & door prizes. The expo will run from noon to 3:00 p.m.

Parkinson's Support Group
On Wednesday, June 26, the Parkinson's Support Group will have a guest speaker during their regularly scheduled meeting beginning at 2:00 p.m. The presentation by John Sayers will be about a treatment option of OFF Periods, or the return of Parkinson's symptoms.

Eyeglass Clinic
Visit the Petoskey Friendship Center beginning at 11:15 a.m. to get your eyeglasses cleaned and adjusted by a representative from Petoskey Optical. Appointments are not necessary for this free service on Thursday, June 27.

Orientation to Parkinson's
On Friday, June 28, FCEC and the Michigan Parkinson's Foundation is presenting a program, Orientation to Parkinson's, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Presented by Aaron Ellenbogen, DO, MPH, a neurologist and movement disorder specialist, he will discuss the motor and non-motor symptoms of Parkinson's Disease, the treatment options, and the importance of an integrated approach involving medication, physical and occupational therapy, speech therapy, and psychological support in managing the disease. The program is for those newly diagnosed, but all with Parkinson's Disease and those caring for those with Parkinson's are welcome to attend. The program is free to attend, but pre-registration is preferred by calling the Michigan Parkinson's Foundation at (800) 852-9781. 

Car Show & Famous Baked Chicken Dinner To Go!
All are welcome to check out the classic cars on display at the Petoskey Friendship Center on Wednesday, July 10 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. While your here, order a famous baked chicken dinner, which includes potato salad, baked beans, biscuit, and dessert, to go. Dinners are $10 each. Pre-orders are also accepted by callilng (231) 347-3211. If you have a special car that you would like on display at the event, please call the Enrichment Director at extension 19.


19th Annual Cash Raffle Fundraiser - WIN $10,000!
Tickets are on sale for the 19th Annual Cash Raffle. Twelve cash prizes will be given out with a grand prize of $10,000! A ticket purchase also allows you and a guest to enjoy the Cash Raffle Party on Friday, September 20, 2019 at the Emmet County Fairgrounds Community Center for an evening of heavy hors d'oeuvres, wine, beer, punch, cake, entertainment, and the prize drawing finale. Tickets cost $150 and only 250 tickets are being sold. Get your ticket prior to the final early bird drawing on August 9 at 12:30 p.m. The winner will receive $150 and still be included in the finale drawings. Winter Weather Policy

If Petoskey Public Schools are closed due to weather, the Petoskey, Pellston, and Huber Centers will be closed and all services will be suspended at all locations. Meals on Wheels will not be delivered on these days.

If Pellston Public Schools are closed due to weather, the Pellston Center will be closed. If Petoskey Schools are open on this day, all other services will be operating as usual.

If either Pellston or Alanson Public Schools are closed due to weather, the Huber (Brutus) Center will be closed. If the Petoskey Schools are open on this day, all other services will be operating as usual.

Save Your Grocery Receipts

We appreciate grocery receipts from Oleson's Markets and D&W Fresh Markets. You may bring receipts into any one of our Centers or mail them to FCEC, 1322 Anderson Road, Petoskey, MI 49770. This is a great way to bring in additional dollars to support our programs.
