Power over Pain!
Discover how to manage and understand methods to control your pain at this presentation on Wednesday, July 17 at the Petoskey Friendship Center. Join Physical Therapist Jeff Smith from Northern Michigan Sports Medicine Center at 12:30 p.m. to learn about treatment methods to reduce and prevent chronic pain.

Entertainment
Enjoy entertainment beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 23 with the Back Porch Pickers playing at the Petoskey Friendship Center and Randy Marquardt playing at the Pellston Friendship Center.

Audubon Society Presentation
Join Cynthia Donahey, Audubon Society member, for this fun and informative presentation on Wednesday, July 24 at 12:30 p.m. at the Petoskey Friendship Center. Learn about outings and walks that the Petoskey Regional Audubon Society offers, how to use binoculars, and about birds in the area.

Eyeglass Clinic
Representatives from Professional Optical will be at the Petoskey Friendship Center during lunch on Thursday, July 25 to clean and adjust your eyeglasses. Appointments are not necessary for this free service.

FCEC Theater
Join us on Wednesday, July 31 at 1:00 p.m. to watch the movie Book Club. In this PG-13 comedy, a group of friends trying to get their love lives back on track after suffering through late-in-life doldrums, read Fifty Shades of Grey as part of their monthly book club, and subsequently begin to make questionable choices, and change how they view their personal relationships. Movie and popcorn is free to those age 60 and older and their spouses. 

19th Annual Cash Raffle Fundraiser - WIN $10,000!
Tickets are on sale for the 19th Annual Cash Raffle. Twelve cash prizes will be given out with a grand prize of $10,000! A ticket purchase also allows you and a guest to enjoy the Cash Raffle Party on Friday, September 20, 2019 at the Emmet County Fairgrounds Community Center for an evening of heavy hors d'oeuvres, wine, beer, punch, cake, entertainment, and the prize drawing finale. Tickets cost $150 and only 250 tickets are being sold. Get your ticket prior to the final early bird drawing on August 9 at 12:30 p.m. The winner will receive $150 and still be included in the finale drawings. Ambassadors Program
Enthusiasts of Friendship Centers of Emmet County are encouraged to consider volunteering for the new Ambassadors Program. If you love FCEC and want to tell about it, have a welcoming and friendly disposition, have a passion for building relationships with other seniors, and have the ability to give and receive supportive feedback, we would love to have you be part of the program. Ambassadors will endorse and promote FCEC at senior centers and other community events. They will help new attendees meet others, give tours, assist with required forms, and provide information about services and enrichment opportunities. Enjoy the benefits of being a member of the Retired Senior Volunteer Program. Learn more and apply at the Petoskey Friendship Center.

FCEC Senior Talent Show
Do you have a special talent? We are looking for talented, mature performers ages 60 and older to entertain the audience on Thursday, August 15 at the FCEC Senior Talent Show at the Petoskey Friendship Center. Oden State Fish Hatchery Field Trip
The Miller Van Winkle Chapter of Trout Unlimited is partnering with the Oden State Fish Hatchery to provide this opportunity for our friends on Wednesday, August 28. The bus departs the Petoskey Friendship Center at 9:15 a.m. Upon arriving at the hatchery, learn about the history, stroll the nature trails, experience the underground viewing chamber, and visit the train car and gift shop. Volunteers from Trout Unlimited will be on hand to assist with a catch and release fishing activity. All fishing gear will be provided by the hatchery. Bring a sack lunch and beverage to enjoy with fellow seniors at the hatchery before departing back to Petoskey. Senior Home Tour
Mark your calendar for another Senior Home Tour on Thursday, August 29. This is an opportunity to tour senior home options for yourself and/or a loved one. The tour will depart Petoskey Friendship Center at 12:45 p.m. and include stops at Mallard Cove Assisted Living, American House Senior Living Communities, The Residences at Harbor Watch, and Independence Village.
