RSVP - Retired & Senior Volunteer ProgramThe Friendship Centers of Emmet County are proud to sponsor the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) of Charlevoix and Emmet Counties. RSVP is a free program that invites adults age 55 and older to use their life experience and skills to answer the call of their community. Giving anywhere from three to 40 hours a week, RSVP volunteers help fill vital roles in their communities. Today's older adults are busy, productive people! After retirement, many RSVP volunteers use their experience to help a variety of local non-profit organizations, agencies, and institutions designated as volunteer stations. RSVP volunteers can assist with a variety of needs including tutoring, budget and tax assistance, telephone reassurance, environmental surveys, consultancy services, adult basic education, mentoring, center-based nutrition programs, hospital volunteer service, intergenerational projects, clerical duties, and docent services. Our volunteers want to keep active in ways that make a difference for those in need. As a RSVP volunteer, you'll receive free volunteer placement, the opportunity to use your extensive experience and skills, the chance to learn something new everyday, fellowship and camaraderie with other seniors that enjoy the same interests, partial reimbursement for transportation and local expenses, and the satisfaction of knowing you are making a difference. Getting involved is the key to RSVP. Your volunteerism can make a difference in your community, and you'll get back more than you give. Become an RSVP volunteer today!Call 231-347-5877 for more information and to sign up!
