Homemaker & Home Chore Services

Homemaker

Two hours of homemaker services are available every other week by donation to seniors age 60 years and over. Additional hours of service are available by purchase.

Services Include:

  • Dusting, vacuuming and mopping floors
  • Cleaning cupboards, dressers, closets and refrigerators/freezers
  • Washing dishes
  • Changing and making beds
  • Preparing meals
  • Shopping - personal and grocery
  • Running errands
  • Washing personal and household laundry
  • Telephone reassurance - seniors are called between 8:00 and 8:30 each morning to check on well-being

Home Chore

Home Chore services are also available to seniors age 60 years and older. Seniors can receive 4 hours of Home Chore services each month with a $5.00 charge per visit. Additional hours of service are available by purchase.

Services Include:

  • Cleaning attics and basements to remove fire and health hazards
  • Washing walls, windows and scrubbing floors
  • Installing window treatments
  • Replacing fuses and light bulbs
  • Cutting grass and trimming over hanging branches
  • Clearing walkways of snow and leaves
  • Installing battery operated smoke detectors
  • Spring and fall yard clean up

 

There is a $5.00 charge per visit with additional donations appreciated.

You can have up to 4 hours on a donation basis and any hours beyond that are a purchase of service at $13.00 per hour.

If a client has 3 visits during the month and only has 2 hours worth of time, this would consist of a $15.00 charge ($5.00 per visit) and any donation for the 2 hours worth of time.

Loan Closet: Free to public, our loan closet offers various items such as wheelchairs, canes, walkers, commodes, and other durable medical equipment. Please call 231-347-3211 to see if we can loan you an item before you purchase or rent it.
