Respite Care

The Friendship Centers support a program of respite care for both caregivers and the homebound clients. The program provides caregivers the support they often need. In cases of dementia, specially-trained respite workers assist seniors with daily living. Friendship Centers offer up to 4 hours per week of the following respite services by donation. Additional hours of service are available by purchase.

Services Include

• Shopping & running errands
• Writing letters
• Doing light laundry
• Making / changing beds
• Providing medication reminders
• Providing relief to regular caregiver
• Preparing light meals
• Feeding
• Reading
• Providing companionship
• Monitoring of vital signs
• Taking clients to appointments
